Frederick (Barney) Bellamy

My dad Frederick(Barney) Bellamy was born at Ushaw Moor,he had sisters Rachael and Emma one who lived in the street where the post office is and one who lived in the street opposite also brothers Billy and Joe.l know he was from a large family but cannot remember any of his other siblings. l know one of his brothers was killed at Bearpark colliery. l would be very grateful of any info at all.

My dad married Hetty Marley and later moved to New Brancepeth.

  1. Durham Miners Museum records show a Samuel Bellamy aged 48 years to have been fatally injured at Bearpark Colliery on 29th March 1951.

  3. he had another sister called jenny who lived at gilesgate.uncle sammy was burried in ushaw moor cemetry.david bellamy son of billy

  4. His other sister was Jennie, who was my mother, there are loads of family members. I remember uncle blarney very well. he had a way with words. A lovely man.

  5. Thank you so much David and Sue did you know that my brother Fred passed away on Feb 6th this year aged 67.?.My dad was a lovely man also called Frederick (Barney} and my brother John passed away in 2005 aged 50.

  6. l remember both uncle Billy and aunt Jenny how is our Sid and Brian,Brian lived next door to me when l lived at Brandon seems like a million years ago now.xx

  7. Hi Barbara, I have lived in the channel islands since 1986 and dont get home much. Sorry to hear about your brothers. I can remember Ann as she visited us. I am still in touch with the rest of my family. My brothers David and Adrian both died. But the rest of us are stil hanging on. Stephen lives in Kent. The others all live up north still. Nice to hwar back from you. x
