Definitely oak ridge road. That area was being built when I left school in1953. I can remember my brother Mick who served his time as a painter with Brandon and byshottles council working on 60 Oakridge road when I was playing in our school field. My brother Jim and his wife Marian moved into this house a few years later. Brian Mc
Thanks Brian, I had a feeling it was indeed Oakridge, many thanks for clearing that up. I hoped it would spark off some memories. When they say 1000th house , I suppose this means in the Brandon Byshottles area ?
I was going to raise the question of the 1000th house in Ushaw Moor. I think you are right Paul in your comments. Perhaps it was the 1000th house the Council built after the War. Does anyone know where the word Byshottles came from and what is its meaning?
